How Halloc Built a Custom WordPress Catalog for Sibon Production

Sibon Production AB supplies custom-printed packaging and foodservice products to businesses across Sweden. Halloc rebuilt its website around a custom WordPress catalog, giving Sibon one place to manage product content, specifications, FAQs, and SEO metadata. We also built a Swedish-language AI assistant to help visitors explore the catalog and ask product questions.

The Challenge

Helping buyers find answers across a growing catalog

Sibon’s customers needed to find the right products, understand their custom-print options, and discover complementary items before requesting a quote. With more than 70 products in the catalog, the information needed to answer a single question could be spread across several product and category pages.

Sibon needed a Swedish-language assistant that could answer product questions using information from its own website and guide buyers to relevant pages for more detail.

What We Implemented

How we rebuilt the catalog

We separated product data from page layouts so Sibon could update information centrally while each product family could display the specifications relevant to its buyers.

Website Architecture & Development

What changed: Halloc built custom product and category templates, added a Branscher industry taxonomy, and designed category banners. Flexible specification sections support five technical layouts, and product pages include a view counter.

Why it mattered: Buyers can browse by product type or industry, and each product family can show the technical details relevant to it.

WordPress Implementation

What changed: The custom Products Manager plugin stores products in a dedicated WordPress post type with native custom fields and settings pages. The catalog runs independently of Gutenberg layouts, third-party page builders, and ACF. The CSV importer matches records by SKU, creates or updates products, and preserves existing values when imported cells are blank.

Why it mattered: Sibon can manage product copy, metadata, FAQs, and specification tables in one workflow. Partial CSV updates can preserve information the team has already entered.

Technical SEO

What changed: We configured the XML sitemap, Google Search Console, GA4, and Google Tag Manager. We also mapped approximately 102 legacy URLs to their new destinations with permanent redirects.

Why it mattered: Old links have destinations on the rebuilt site, and Sibon has tools to monitor search visibility and on-site activity after launch.

Swedish Product Content

What changed: We wrote Swedish copy, SEO titles, and meta descriptions for more than 70 products. The expanded catalog includes placemats (bordstabletter) and seven varieties of spice sachets (kryddpåsar).

Why it mattered: Buyers get product-specific information in Swedish, and each page has metadata tailored to the item it describes.

Product FAQs & AI Chatbot

What changed: We turned Sibon’s own Rekommendation list into product-specific FAQs about complementary items. These answers link to relevant category pages. We also built a Swedish-language AI assistant that answers questions about the catalog.

Why it mattered: Buyers can find related products while reading a product page or ask a follow-up question through the assistant.

Structured Data

What changed: We built a custom JSON-LD layer for Product, ItemList, and BreadcrumbList that works alongside Yoast. Because Sibon provides pricing by quote, the product markup omits Offer data and uses consistent brand information across the catalog.

Why it mattered: Search engines receive a consistent description of products, category listings, and page hierarchy. The markup reflects Sibon’s quote-based sales process.
